Doctor

  • Dr. Jack Sameck


    After graduating from the Ohio State Veterinary School in 1975, Dr. Jack Sameck served with the U.S. Army Veterinary Core before returning home to Florida.   Subsequently, he worked as a veterinary associate in the Gainesville area before purchasing Gainesville Animal Hospital in 1982 as a practice owner.

     

    Dr. Sameck’s mission has always been to provide optimal veterinary care to his patients while also serving his clients and the community.  In 1983, he founded the Interlachen Veterinary Clinic, and in 1989 he established Gainesville Animal Hospital West. 

     

    Dr. Sameck is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Alachua County Veterinary Medical Association.

     

    On a personal note, Dr. Sameck and his wife April have five children; Abby, Amy, Jacob, Karen, and Tommy.  The Sameck’s also have two black Schnauzer’s, Reebok (who is deaf) and Nike (who is very energetic).  Dr. Sameck enjoys golfing and traveling with his family.

  • Dr. Ray Sujdak


    Dr. Ray Sujdak was born and raised in New England, but relocated to Gainesville to attend Veterinary School.  After graduation from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, he practiced in Gainesville and the Ocala areas.  During these years, he developed a special interest in oncology and chemotherapy.

     

    In 1995, upon deciding to establish roots in Gainesville, he joined Gainesville Animal Hospital.  Here he has settled with his wife and two children, as well as six cats and two dogs.  During his free time, Dr. Sujdak enjoys spending time with his family and playing strategic simulation games.

  • Dr. Jodi Nichols


    Dr. Nichols was born and raised in Michigan.  After obtaining a bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and a doctorate of veterinary medicine from Michigan State University, she practiced small animal medicine in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area for four years before joining the Gainesville Animal Hospital family in 2003.

     

    Dr. Nichols is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association since 1995 and the American Animal Hospital Association since 1999.  She has strong interests in dermatology and ophthalmology.  Her family consists of her husband Daniel, two dogs and a cat (for the moment).  Her hobbies include photography and pilates.

  • Dr. Ray Henley


    Dr. Ray Henley was born in New Jersey, but grew up in Orlando.  He got his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Florida in 1983 and his veterinary degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987.  He then joined the Gainesville Animal Hospital team as an associate veterinarian.  In 1989 he became the managing veterinarian of the newly opened Gainesville Animal Hospital West.

     

    Dr. Henley is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and Alachua Veterinary Medical Association.  He has previously served on the board of the Alachua Veterinary Medical Association in a variety of roles, including president.  He was also included in the second edition of Who’s Who in Veterinary Medicine.  He is currently a member of the Small Animal Hospital Advisory Board for the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
